It's good to have friends that you know you like to camp with. It's good to have friends you like to do anything with. It's good to have friends.
Besides watching the children grow, and catching up on our lives (since last month), some things I especially enjoyed this time were:
Discovering a new skill that Moo has: storytelling!
Noticing that every time we get together, there is a picture (or more) of Rachel covered with kids, usually reading a book
Moo reading to herself quietly in the woods
Surprise blackberry bushes
Fitting our whole family in a canoe
Swimming out to the raft and sprawling out on it in the sun
Watching our kids move freely between all the adults
Talking late around the fire
I also found myself thinking, "How in the world do families with small children do this for more than one day?" The logistics, the exhaustion, the dirt. . . a day was enough for me!

glory days.
